JOB TITLE: Manufacturing Group Leader – Thermoforming / Glassing

REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor                                   

FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for organizing the personnel, materials, tools and equipment in the thermoforming and glassing areas to most efficiently meet daily production schedules while maintaining quality work standards and product quality.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Perform and train on all job functions in the thermoforming and glassing work group within 30 days.
  • Ability to motivate and lead a work team to accomplish team goals and objectives.
  • Create workstation instructions and training aids as required.
  • Monitor workmanship of all team members to insure quality standards.
  • Maintain, trouble shoot and repair equipment in the thermoforming and glassing areas.
  • Report all injuries, discipline, attendance and personnel issues to Production Supervisor.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards in the work area.
  • Follow safety procedures specific to work area including the proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies.

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform other duties and projects as required by Production Supervisor.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION

  • Successful completion of drug test.
  • Successful completion of criminal background check.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
     

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to understand and adhere to written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work well with a wide range of people.
  • Demonstrate dependability through good attendance and adherence to timelines and schedules.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude and machine trouble shooting ability.
  • Ability to learn Fourth Shift software system (MRP).
  • Proficient in or ability to learn Microsoft Word and Excel.
     

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This work requires the following physical activities: 

·        Standing or sitting for long periods of time.
·        Frequent lifting of approximately 25-50 lbs.
·        Frequent lifting of approximately 100-250 lbs. with assistance
·        Occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking. 
·        Frequent repetitive motions.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

·        Normal manufacturing and warehouse environment with fluctuation in temperatures.
·        Work areas that have adequate lighting, ventilation and heating. 
·        Protective eye and hearing gear where required.
·        Potential for chemical odor and dust exists.
